Allert in chat/popup when Update comes out

I understand that the game is still in the very early stages of development (great job it’s exactly the feel I was looking for in an MMORPG), but when an update is released (and you get disconnected from the servers), it’s not clear why. If there were an in-game notification before an update one that appeared before the “Reconnecting” prompt it would help players understand the cause and restart Steam to download the update.
