Tab targeting causes Smite to fail sometimes

I am playing the Cleric and have noticed that when I pull multiple enemies and try to tab target through and cast Smite, the spell will hit and play spell affects but will not do damage and will not generate energy. Reproduce: 1. Pull multiple enemies (3+) 2. Tab target 3. Cast smite 4. Repeat 2 and 3, only casting smite 1 time and then pressing tab again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plaefM-beI4 In the video you can see me fighting 5 wolves and tab targeting between them while casting Smite. You can see that Smite often hits the enemy and plays spell affects, but does not do damage or generate energy.
